Low-Dose X-rays
“The One-Of-A-Kind Planmeca ProMax® 3D Mid”
Planmeca ProMax® 3D Mid is a genuine all-in-one CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) unit including 3D imaging, 3D photo, digital 2D panoramics and cephalometry, all in the same unit. This means Dr. Shamlian can acquire all the x-rays she needs to diagnose your case with a single extra-oral x-ray. This means no gagging and no discomfort.
This Planmeca 3D X-ray unit completed with Planmeca ProFace™ is the first CBCT unit with integrated 3D surface scan.
The 3D facial photo can also be acquired separately in a 100% radiation-free process for use in dedicated orthodontic and orthognathic (jaw) surgery planning software.
This state-of-the-art technology allows Dr. Shamlian to diagnose and treat orthodontic patients, including patients undergoing jaw surgery, with the utmost accuracy and precision.
Itero Scanner
Conventional vs Digital Impressions
No more messy goop, gagging, or discomfort. At Clarity Orthodontics, Dr. Tamara N. Shamlian uses a state-of-the-art iTero® Element digital scanner to capture highly accurate images of your teeth, jaws and gums. The new technology completely eliminates the tray and putty impressions of old. The old technique is incredibly unpleasant and frequently results in taking multiple rounds of impressions that can be rejected, broken, or misplaced. The iTero Element scanner ensures a more accurate impression from the start, resulting in improved treatment and a more comfortable experience for our patients. Digital impressions also give you the ability to see your teeth instantly in 3D, improving communication during the consultation and throughout your treatment process.
How Does it Work?
The iTero Element scanner digitally captures the structure of the teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is a compact, hand-held wand. Once Dr. Shamlian begins the scanning process, it can be stopped and started as many times as necessary.
Your mouth is scanned with a radiation-free laser, and in as little as two to three minutes, the laser renders a digitally perfect, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures. Through digital software, you’ll then be able to follow the progress of the scans, including a 3D model of your teeth on our computer screen. The iTero Element scanner can be used for any orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign®.
